As early as the late 60s but certainly by the late 70s, Exxon and others who were part of the oil and gas boom of the 50s knew that fossil fuel pollution would eventually cause catastrophic weather events (they put the year at 2000 when they would begin) and then human extinction by 2030 (look at Exxon memo attached)...this article shows how the public is 'informed' about something horrifying happening but it presented as not man made, nor will it happen soon...the greenhouse carbon pollutants around the planet that already kill 5 million people a year from air pollution is man made.....
