I took a  long walk today and felt such a sense of peace and I don't know why...to be in nature is like getting a hug-it was very windy, the water choppy as if I were at the ocean than a reservoir and yet beautifully quiet and I just felt peace with everything.
Consciousness is the substance of the universe, not matter, not materialism; so an environmental collapse/crisis is a crisis of consciousness- an identification with the here and now without concern for the future-say, future generations beyond us, or a healthy Earth for the future.  We have reduced our relationship to the Earth as a profit scheme, a vacation package, something in the background of a selfie...
Back to the subject of GREED-of the fossil fuel industry AND the neoenvironmentalists/neogreens...like solar panels, like wind turbines,-pollutants in their own right- the new 'billion dollar' profit craze is CO2 removal,-an industry that DOES NOT EVEN EXIST yet and never will, but is being sold as the latest 'cure' on a planet in  rapid ecological collapse...you cannot fight  catastrophic climate change which has tipped the red line now a few times as well as methane 'burps' which, if large enough will be a quicker peril than arctic sea meltdown, it can be slowed down by the stopping of fossil fuel pollution, which should be the ONLY goal of anyone truly interested in environmentalism at this point. Pictured here are Noah Diech and Giana Amador, who aim to make a lot of money if they can while the ecological system continues to collapse....note the website even 'green biz'......

for many years now, there have been individuals who have shown us our direct relationship to nature and the Earth...it's destruction reflects our own impulse to self destruction, which is always rooted in materialism as our identity. The only identity we really have is with nature and the animals.

The neo-environmentalists have a great advantage over the old greens, with their threatening talk about limits to growth, behavior change, and other such against-the- grain stuff: they are telling this civilization what it wants to hear. What it wants to hear is that the progress trap in which our civilization is caught can be escaped from by inflating a green tech bubble on which we can sail merrily into the future, happy as gods and equally in control.
In the short term, the future belongs to the neo-environmentalists, and it is going to be painful to watch.    Paul Kingsnorth
http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2013/nov/21/climate-change-increase-civil-unrest-warning ""Climate change is real and devastating communities. Yet governments are undermining the [UN] process by negotiating in bad faith. Frustrations are rising. Civil disobedience is on the increase. So far, governments and business leaders have failed to put the world on a development path that stays within ecological limit," they said.

the most gentle and realistic presentation of what is happening -from Guy McPherson, Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources and Ecology, University of Arizona.  "First there's the name calling, then there's the denial, then 'so what do you expect me to do-we should just give up?'--that's not what i'm saying at all, but that our dreams should be rooted in reality, and recognize our time on this planet is short."

we have about 15 years before catastrophic events- mass die offs of human life. Humans begin dying at 2.2/2.3 degrees C. which occurred in europe in 2003, when 52,000 people died at 2.3- in 10 years, the Earth will be conservatively 4.0 C-possibly 5.0 This is a very serious time for humans to step away from their corporate informed TVs and fall on their knees to nature for what we have done.
Paul Beck with explains the severity of ice melt in the arctic...and what is now occurring which is a RAPIDLY warming planet and the consequences of that...we have, I think, a window of about 15 years at best...of real concern, of course, is  GREED/MONEY- that corporations, who run the major  polluting countries of the world will not change and control the politicians with MONEY to protect their continuing profits.

This is an example of the danger neoenvironmentalists cause, which environmentalists such as Paul Kingsnorth have warned about "offshore wind turbines.. there is ample evidence that their acoustic pollution can interfere with whale communication and navigation. " http://townhall.com/columnists/pauldriessen/2016/03/02/are-wind-turbines-killing-whales-n2127647/page/full

my kitty Mystic hears some sparrows on the deck....
Easter Sunday-and I see a sparrow's nest forming on my deck that was not there yesterday...they left little twigs around that drew my attention over there...I believe in nature...nature is God ...the last place I want to be today is in a building with people because it is out in the wild, alone or with others that God is- a resurrected Spring amongst such  global destruction
....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV2wCXKgG1E  I feed a lot of sparrows in the yard where I live...more than any other bird they seem grateful - they will get close, hang around- seem to like to engage and mingle if they feel safe- there was a nest on my deck and one in the eaves of the entrance to my apartment, but they do not get close (within touching distance)...lots of people have been moved by this video and lots have made fun of it. It  moved me... . It was a moment  with nature, looking us in the face- one to one.

hawks in the sunset a few minutes ago...
The losses of the natural world are our loss, their silence silences something within the human mind.

I am now beginning to see, in the last 2 days , more and more articles popping up on climate change...as it settles in that corporations, solely for profit and knowing the future consequences to the environment at least by 1970 , have destroyed the ecology beyond repair ( it may take a while still for neoenvironmentalists to accept this), and been protected by politicians of both parties while they did it, expect to see things unravel bigtime. One would hope it means a return to sanity and literal nature worship. It is a choice now between acceptance and reverence for mother Earth or human control escalating into further destruction.

yesterday... a bike ride in nature. There were a lot of seagulls there - so beautiful and clever..I read recently they will stamp their feet to imitate the rain. here is one of the ones around me there

http://returntonow.net/2016/03/21/584/ "“He said money was an illusion, and I didn’t really believe that,” Sundeen says in the video below. But when the economy collapsed in 2008 and “money just disappeared” Sundeen thought “maybe Suelo had a point.” In 2009, Sundeen began writing Suelo’s story.." We are on the brink of ecological collapse due to unregulated pollutants for over a century for pure profit consideration only, but we are also on the brink of a global economic collapse in which the dollar will be replaced by a new reserve currency...what is the meaning of life to you?
a friend recently suggested I see the documentary Blackfish about the  used as entertainment abuse of whales at Seaworld (and its connection to trainers being killed by whales there) and it  took me into the subject of selfies...in the last year 2 selfies trends have made it into the news-1) grinning selfies at memorial sites and funerals and 2) selfies taken took close to wild animals....there is no clearer sign that technology creates a  disconnect from conscience and its connection to nature.. unable to discern reverence , respect for anything beyond self interest.

I share George Carlin's annoyance with neo environmentalists -he didn't use that word before his death in 2008, but those are the ones he often talked about -those who think recycling, solar panels and wind turbines ect. will 'save' the planet....60 years of greenhouse gas emissions have taken us to the tipping pint and beyond...the green movement has been a failure to address the larger umbrella of corporate greed that created uncontrolled/unregulated pollution. Last year-the hottest year on record. January and February 2016-hottest months ever on record and a red line of 2 degrees C passed at the beginning of March-when it is still winter (March 3rd to be exact-the day REAL environmentalist Berta Ceceres was murdered in Honduras by the corporate thug military police).

" The planet isn't going away, we are. pack your shit folks, we're going away. The planet will heal itself, it will cleanse itself. The air and water will recover; the earths ill be renewed. We are part of a greater wisdom than we will ever understand." (George Carlin)

photograph I took of geoengineering gridlines being sprayed in front of and around the Sun...that is a dove in the center of the photo...geoengineering is the toxic quick fix solution to keep the planet cool, instead of  extensive pollution controls and regulations. What geoengineering does is adds to the greenhouse effect surrounding the planet and after initial cooling effects (or snow or rain effects) the heat only increases as the chemicals (aluminum, barium and coal) sit in the upper atmosphere.
I truly believe this and that it applies to our abuse of or disinterest in nature.

Think you know the odd effects of global climate change? Take our quiz. this is a fun  and interesting quiz....http://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/2012/0928/Think-you-know-the-odd-effects-of-global-climate-change-Take-our-quiz/sealevels

Environmental crisis is a crisis in consciousness. Consciousness is the substance of the universe, not matter.
'just pump it back to antarctica' will not stop the rise in sea levels, but only accelerate them..what needed to be done was serious regulation of polluting industries 60 years ago with the oil and gas boom of the 50s and 60's. It is too late now. After decades of animal and nature adaptation to human greed, they cannot, in their balanced delicate way, keep up with our constant abuse and destruction and  ecological collapse is everywhere....still, we continue deny it or 'green' fix it and try to control it.

at a 2 degree rise (we rose briefly above this point on March 3rd, 2016), people begin to die in what are considered normal summers. In 2003 with temperatures 2.3 degrees above average, 52,000 people died across Europe"

Consciousness is the substance of the universe, not matter and environmental crisis is a crisis of consciousness...more proof today that we are the earth in our behavior and that we are part of the universe ""The elements so important to life on Earth are available, on average, in similar relative proportions throughout the bulk of the universe," adds Simionescu. "In other words, the chemical requirements for life are common."

a city that is deep in denial regarding climate change is Miami, FL, where water levels are rising an inch a year-recently , simply having a full moon created flooding ... a man who works at Verizon, where I go to add time to my cell phone, told me he moved his father down to FL recently from NJ and where he lives there the city is simply bulldozing masses of soil down to rebuild where water has taking over beach front property area- DENIAL.

There have been more environmentalists murdered in Honduras than any other country in the world--111 since 2002, and across the world 116  environmentalist have been killed just last year..murdered by the military and appointed governments developers own and control. In Honduras, since the 2009 military coup backed by the Obama administration and orchestrated by Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State against the pleas of Honduran environmentalists such as Ceceres
to reinstate the former President, the military government has made “investment in mining, forestry, agribusiness and hydroelectric dams a top priority”, and the murder of environmentalist has escalated. Only last year, Berta Ceceres received the Goldman Environmental Prize. After years of threats of murder and rape , she was shot to death on March 3 this year. If people wonder how seriously the world is being raped and pillaged by developers, here is clear evidence of their intent to destroy whatever threatens their profits.

the Ashley Reservoir, yesterday..a beautiful sacred place to me... Holyoke, Massachusetts
Paul Kingsnorth is a British environmentalist...like some of us, he has found himself around those who just are in denial of climate change, have no interest in it, or think doomsday scenarios are 'being negative'. Like him, we also are probably the most idealistic and optimistic people around if anyone got to know us and we came to the truth that the planet has past the point of fixing, through much research and personal revelation and honest assessment that led to a sickening heartache, then a burning desire to INFORM the public now to get ready and be prepared out of wisdom and maturity for what is to come and is already happening. This is an excellent interview he did with the New York Times...  "For Kingsnorth, the notion that technology will stave off the most catastrophic effects of global warming is not just wrong, it’s repellent — a distortion of the proper relationship between humans and the natural world and evidence that in the throes of crisis, many environmentalists have abandoned the principle that “nature has some intrinsic, inherent value beyond the instrumental.” If we lose sight of that ideal in the name of saving civilization, he argues, if we allow ourselves to erect wind farms on every mountain and solar arrays in every desert, we will be accepting a Faustian bargain."

a sure sign of Spring are the peepers! I took a walk at the Ashley Reservoir yesterday and they were singing away in a little to the side marsh area, hiding if you came close ...I had my camera with me and on the way back from my walk
I got my camera out and waited to see them..a lot floated to the surface and went to sleep like this one..

There is nothing quite as beautiful to me as a dove...as the almost non existent winter here in New England ends and Spring comes in, a shot I took of a dove last month landing to eat seeds in my garden...
My favorite comedienne was Jonathan Winters, a gender bending incredibly perceptive and compassionate genius.  His artwork is what really got to me - there you could see a whole other side to him- not just the funny takes on the shallowness of celebrity 'hangups' with hanger imagery, but an powerful respect of nature over  the destructiveness of man..
...walking the fine line, as geniuses, do between the horror and comedy of life...above is his painting, the First and Last day of Spring. Here, a comment on the spirit of divinity and  the dead human judgement structures and concepts of  divinity...An Evil Woodpecker

Scientist have been spending the last 10 years or so developing an exit strategy for Earth's population (not all of them-think about that for a moment-only about 1-2 billion, not the present 7 billion...as the planet becomes unlivable due to the massive pollutants creating a greenhouse effect for the last 100 years since the Industrial Revolution- accelerated during the 1950s oil and gas boom. The exit would be the planet Mars-our closest neighboring planet. This is why that is not a good idea...and like so many other concepts of our destroy and abandon nature, hints at an endgame when we do not change that nature and reconnect to the vital sacredness of the planet and that authentic place within us..

last year, 2015, there were 6000 Fracking earthquakes in Oklahoma-yes, six thousand..., 900 of those were 3.0 or larger significant ones. In 2010 Oklahoma had 3 earthquakes. These wastewaters pollute streams and drinking water supplies and activate dormant fault lines they come in contact with...pure insane behavior.
"Quantum physics has revealed that matter does not exist. the substance of the universe is consciousness, not matter. Belief that the substance of the universe is matter leads to a fear-greed dichotomy as people in their quiet desperation attempt to accumulate as many material goods as possible. In fact, the substance of the universe is consciousness. Therefore, it is behavior that is important. " James J. Traitz

9 years ago,  I got a certificate in Addiction Counseling to help women veteran's returning from the Iraq war with addiction they had developed in relation to war trauma and , as was happening then quite often with very young female soldiers, rape by fellow servicemen. I felt a calling to do it and then, the complex reality of the VA homeless shelter , where I did my internship, hit me- the dysfunction of addiction facilities which are predominately run by addicts themselves , the need to fill beds to get state funding encouraging a climate of non recovery- that women with war and rape trauma from the military would be anywhere else but the VA...but I learned so much. That was the year Amy Winehouse was topping the charts-addiction was in the air, the way to be, the way to escape....and I had an inside glimpse at something it would take me years to see...how the destruction of the environment -the choice to escape from it- to be indifferent to it, abuse and pollute it- the qualities of it that ARE US, the escape from our vital being-are also addiction-addiction to materialism becomes self  and nature and our inner connectedness to it becomes OTHER.  Many severe addicts, close to death, have a strong sense of coup de grace-I cannot die.  It is the worst trait of our Personality-there are no limits and we see this now with the 11th hour we are in with environmental collapse- we will be fine somehow no matter what we have done to profit off off nature. All indications, by science and the rational caring, say otherwise.

a squirrel by my car...
It is so vital to understand that environmental crisis, which we are into now, is a crisis of consciousness...   " Social and moral progress seemed more elusive than material progress, so human progress was quietly redefined and limited to material progress" . Michael Huesemann's excellent lecture on the inherent value of technology to constantly attain more and more (consumerism, materialism) as 'good'. Disrupting the connectedness with non technology such as nature- "when we consider ourselves part of nature, we will not tolerate pollution"...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MsUypIHZhc

Before the Industrial Revolution in England began sending massive coal pollutants into the air, the pepper moth was WHITE and then adapted it's color to BLACK to survive being eaten easily on a then black tree-the black coal ash that hung on trees in those days of the mid- late 19th century between London and Manchester. Warnings were in the works of Dickens -how the Industrial Revolution dehumanized and traumatized for mere profit... warnings of billionaire Maurice Strong, who personally made billions off the coal and gas boom in the US in the 50s and 60s and then in a lucid moment in 1970 coined the term 'climate change' so common now, and hinted 45 YEARS ago a change THEN was absolutely necessary to save the environment. Despite all this, massive pollutants have filled our atmosphere unheeded-it's profit making protected by poor regulation and deregulation paid politicians. We are now on the brink of environmental collapse and a passive disinterested public...this blog is my attempt to link the disconnect between the human psyche and nature that allowed both the capitalists and their employed masses to create and endure such a  toxic relationship for so long...and how easily that could have changed... is it too late? We too are a dark reflection of what we have adapted ourselves to....
