There really is a smoking gun-90 to be exact...the fossil fuel industry knew and kept hidden that their massive pollution would create catastrophic weather events by around 2000 and human extinction by 2030....if we're lucky, because right now science cannot keep up with the earth changes.

I had mentioned places my mother had lived in her life that have experienced catastrophic weather events THIS YEAR ( Liverpool, England where she grew up, Corpus Christi, Texas, where she lived for 30 years)-just one woman....now another place she lived-my father as an air force member was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado when I was a child...yesterday they had abrupt flooding and hail...
and here reposting the pics from earlier this summer of Liverpool....

370 deer killed by a lightning strike in Norway last Friday...lightning strikes this year have killed groups of people and animals.. the media separates and downplays these stories this year-here the article mentions deer have died there before from lightning strikes just not as many-but leave no statistics on what is 'normal' deer kill from lighting...I could find absolutely no statistics on the net of what a 'normal' death toll of deer from a  lightning strike is....

Moving account of  a mass funeral for some of those who died in Italy...

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37198040

the 6,2 earthquake in Italy....I have kept track of places my mother live that have experienced catastrophic weather events-her family was from the Italian area (Arno was her maiden name-my grandmother, her mother was full Maltese), then my mother grew up in Liverpool England  (which had abrupt catastrophic flooding earlier this Spring/Summer) and she lived for 30 years in Corpus Christi Texas USA which had catastrophic flooding on the highway area downtown (the last two have pics in my blog somewhere already posted). That is one woman...blessing to Italy and all the beautiful people there who look like my mom and the recovery and well being of it s people in central Italy...I have been traveling around a bit-pardon the breaks in the blog at times...

This is the kind of perversity of message coming out of the American media these days-the 'positives' of global warming when they are not ignoring the subject entirely or downplaying it, as they did with the flooding in Louisiana (which I mentioned in previous blog entires). Whales are not 'loving' global warming-how sick. Reminds me of the McDonald's ad- 'I'm loving' it'-to sell nutritionally poor food.

It is such an important human-wildlife interaction, such an ancient interaction.. It's often the only experience people have with wildlife in urban areas.
'If you stop bird feeding you have an extinction of experience. People lose out on this, one of their only interactions with wildlife.'
engage with nature-worship it...a bird at my feeder and a bowl of water above it!...they seem more precious now that I see so much damage to the environment and their lives...

Since the fossil fuel industries are responsible for the catastrophic weather events now plaguing the world, its media is trivializing and downplaying catastrophies...and the media is beginning to be questioned and critiqued about it-that is something.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/18/media/louisiana-flooding-media-coverage/

"

Between August 8 and August 14, Louisiana was battered by roughly 6.9 trillion gallons of rain. As the flooding there continues, 40,000 homes have been damaged; 13 people are dead. And some observers are wondering when the national media is going to truly take notice."

We are all one-I will keep saying that-one race on earth and whatever happens to one happens to all...the massive hail storm in France  on Wednesday severely damaged wine crops...we have seen filed of all sorts  around the world damaged from flooding and other catastrophic weather events this year

and in Louisiana in the US 40,000 homes were  severely water damaged ....

we could never experience a flower as such as this butterfly, never know the simplicity of greedless purpose...

what we have done to the earth is being reflected back at us-the heat, the droughts, the floods, the massive pollutants that define 'civilization'....

I will write a post a little later on horrific lightning events around the work, including 5 people struck  yesterday in NY...the latest catastrophic fold event-Louisiana....what if catastrophic weather events occurred and the nobody seemed to notice? or care if it did not happen to them-that is what it feels like day after day as I see too many occurrences to even keep track...wherever you live, blessings from a woman roasting on the east coast of the US (100 here in western Massachusetts-absolutely unheard of)

"Temperatures in Kuwait and Iraq startled observers. On July 22, the mercury climbed to 129 degrees in the southern Iraqi city of Basra. A day earlier, it reached 129.2 in Mitribah, Kuwait. If confirmed by the World Meteorological Organization, the two temperatures would be the hottest ever recorded in the Eastern Hemisphere."

and where global warming meets senseless wars....

"Tens of thousands of Iraqis displaced by battles between government forces and Islamic State militants have endured the heat in tents and other makeshift shelters. Humanitarian organizations have been unable to reach all of them because of budget constraints, restrictions by Iraq’s government and risks associated with operating in war zones. A lot of these people are probably dying, but it’s hard to know,” said an official at an aid organization who was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly and so spoke on the condition of anonymity."

Where I live in western Massachusetts, we are experiencing a severe drought- we do not get drought here, which in a longer term will likely affect fall foliage this year,  and local crops throughout the eastern states....no mention of global warming whatsoever in this article...clearly with drought throughout the US and wildfires raging, some thoughtfulness as to why might be considered.

and , as always, it is not just a single place affected, which the media presents- the following article on NY being affected and as I have seen in media articles on flooding across the world the worn out meaningless phrase " “Right now, it’s probably a once-in-a-generation drought.” Minimalizing global warming.

The filthy nuclear waste and war that defines human history ultimately.. ' Camp Century is an example of  mankind's unceasing struggle to conquer his environment"-with the Greenland glacier's melt-the result of man's pollution of earth's atmosphere- his destruction of the deep earth 6,ooo  feet deep is also revealed and 70 years later a danger to humans as the nuclear waste and human waste is exposed to air...my father was stationed in Greenland in the early 50's during the Korean war, before this camp was built..

http://www.isuma.tv/inuit-knowledge-and-climate-change

This is a very interesting documentary on how the Inuits are observing climate change....what I have said many times here is echoed in this documentary-that we are one race on earth and what happens to any of us happens to all..and that because we are separate cultures, countries, and the intention by the media and corporations also keeps us separate, the common experiences all people are going through now is being kept separate, rather than a clear indication that the earth is warming rapidly  due to massive air pollution (the Inuits say the earth cannot breath and so is overheating) and the consequences of that are what we are seeing- abrupt and catastrophic flooding and other weather events like out of control wildfires, rapid ice glacier melt, overheated waters affecting animals ability to adapt quickly enough, sea rise, and a profound disconnect from the natural environment, which the Iniuts say is also within us-the earth overheats, we overheat, the animals overheat....

What happened this weekend in historic Ellicott City, Maryland is so minor to the deaths and massive flooding throughout India and China in the last few months, so much death and misery to humans and animals-in China, the pigs who drowned who could not be removed from rising flood waters and recently in Assam India- the deaths of  13 rare rhinos....
